Dr. Meredith Owen received an honours degree in BioMedical Science from the University of Guelph (Canada) before studying dentistry at the University of Sydney. She graduated with honours and was awarded the Henry Bruce Maxwell prize for restorative dentistry, an academic merit scholarship, and an alumni achievement honour for leadership and community engagement. She also obtained her Doctor of Clinical Dentistry in Periodontics from the University of Sydney, and upon completion was awarded membership into the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons.
Dr. Owen has been involved in teaching for both the University of Sydney and the University of Newcastle. She is a Swiss Dental Academy trainer, teaching innovative techniques for oral biofilm management.
Dr. Owen currently works in private practice in Newcastle, NSW.
Dentists are likely to encounter lesions that have both periodontic and endodontic origins. Thorough examination and investigations are crucial for correct diagnosis and treatment planning. This lecture will cover such topics as the new classification of “perio-endo” lesions, cemental tears, and clinical management.
